Mauldrich

In 1994, Mauldrich was in the Navy on the Submarine base in Groton, CT.  It was here he was introduced to the rave/party scene.  You would call a phone number an hour before the party started to find out where it was going to be, drive there, party, and come home the next day, sometimes in the afternoon.  This had a huge impact on his life at the time.  Large groups of people, coming together in random locations, having a blast and listening to awesome music almost every weekend.  In November of 1997, Mauldrich finished his tour in the Navy and immediately bought a set of 1200’s and a mixer.  He moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1998 and started out learning to mix Breaks.  He slowly transitioned to Trance, Goa Trance and House, finally settling on Drum & Bass as his preferred music to spin.  Mauldrich met DHL in 1998 at Travisty’s Birthday party and met the FL-Raves crew.  The FL-Raves crew was a group of like-minded people across Florida that stayed in touch via IRC chat.  They were trusted friends that met up whenever possible at raves and parties and spent time hanging out all over Florida.  Mauldrich went by the IRC handle of Phantasm, which later became his DJ name.

Shortly thereafter, DHL (Smooth-E) started up an internet broadcast out of Gainesville called Enation Live on Wednesday nights.  Living in Kissimmee, this meant driving to Gainesville every Wednesday and every weekend.  Mauldrich (Phantasm) continued to hone his skills at spinning while contributing to the Enation Live show.  Eventually, eNation was getting gigs at local parties and locations as well as throwing their own.  Enation Live was based out of DHL’s apartment, the famous J105.  J105 was the base of operations for Enation for the next 2 years and was the location of several parties as well.  Not just any little house party either.  3 rooms of DJs, 200+ people parties.  Smooth-E, Drumm, Phantasm, Digitalis, Travisty and others promoted Enation and provided many great parties for the local populous.

In 2000, Mauldrich moved to Tampa, FL.  He continued driving back and forth to Gainesville until DHL graduated colloge and moved to Tampa as well.  Enation Live was put on hold sometime after this and Mauldrich went in to Normal-Life mode.  This was a long period of time I will condense for you.  Girlfriend->Wife->House->Debt->Divorce->Back to start.

Fast-forwarding… September of 2009, DHL and Mauldrich restarted Enation Live in the Tampa Bay area (Wednesdays 7-10pm EST).  Visiting local clubs and parties, they met local DJs and promoted the show.  Enation Live quickly resumed and was back to a full swing of fresh local DJs playing their choice of music.  Soon after, Mauldrich’s brother, SLi came on board.  As well as Produkt13 and Sean Fee.  You can hear Mauldrich and his Drum & Bass machine on Enation Live, Enation Residential, Fusion, or any other local party that he is playing.  Check the EnationFM fan page on Facebook for details on shows and events.
