{"id":9,"date":"2010-05-14T17:15:55","date_gmt":"2010-05-14T17:15:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/enation.fm\/artists\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2010-05-19T18:29:42","modified_gmt":"2010-05-19T23:29:42","slug":"mauldrich","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/mauldrich","title":{"rendered":"Mauldrich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_Simons1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-135\" title=\"me_Simons\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_Simons1-299x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"178\" \/><\/a>In 1994, Mauldrich was in the Navy on the Submarine base in Groton, CT.\u00a0 It was here he was introduced to the rave\/party scene.\u00a0 You would call a phone number an hour before the party started to find out where it was going to be, drive there, party, and come home the next day, sometimes in the afternoon.\u00a0 This had a huge impact on his life at the time.\u00a0 Large groups of people, coming together in random locations, having a blast and listening to awesome music almost every weekend.\u00a0 In November of 1997, Mauldrich finished his tour in the Navy and immediately bought a set of 1200&#8217;s and a mixer.\u00a0 He moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1998 and started out learning to mix Breaks.\u00a0 He slowly transitioned to <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/Mauldrich\/Pictures\/me_Simons.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>Trance, Goa Trance and House, finally settling on Drum &amp; Bass as his preferred music to spin.\u00a0 Mauldrich met DHL in 1998 at Travisty&#8217;s Birthday party and met the FL-Raves crew.\u00a0 The FL-Raves crew was a group of like-minded people across Florida that stayed in touch via IRC chat.\u00a0 They were trusted friends that met up whenever possible at raves and parties and spent time hanging out all over Florida.\u00a0 Mauldrich went by the IRC handle of Phantasm, which later became his DJ name.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/record2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-138\" title=\"record\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/record2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/record2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/record2.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Shortly thereafter, DHL (Smooth-E) started up an internet broadcast out of    Gainesville called <strong>Enation Live<\/strong> on Wednesday nights.\u00a0   Living in  Kissimmee, this meant driving to Gainesville every Wednesday   and every  weekend.\u00a0 Mauldrich (Phantasm) continued to hone his skills   at spinning  while contributing to the Enation Live show.\u00a0 Eventually, eNation was getting gigs at local parties and locations as well as throwing their own.\u00a0 Enation   Live was  based out of DHL&#8217;s apartment, the famous <strong>J105<\/strong>.\u00a0   J105 was the base  of operations for Enation for the next 2 years and was the location of several parties as well.\u00a0 Not just any little house party either.\u00a0 3 rooms of DJs, 200+ people parties.\u00a0 Smooth-E, Drumm, Phantasm, Digitalis, Travisty and others promoted Enation and provided many great parties for the local populous.<\/p>\n<p>In 2000, Mauldrich moved to Tampa, FL.\u00a0 He continued driving back and forth to Gainesville until DHL graduated colloge and moved to Tampa as well.\u00a0 Enation Live was put on hold sometime after this and Mauldrich went in to Normal-Life mode.\u00a0 This was a long period of time I will condense for you.\u00a0 Girlfriend-&gt;Wife-&gt;House-&gt;Debt-&gt;Divorce-&gt;Back to start.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_old_enation2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-143\" title=\"me_old_enation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_old_enation2-201x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"201\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_old_enation2-201x300.jpg 201w, https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_old_enation2.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 201px) 100vw, 201px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_new2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-144\" title=\"me_new\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_new2-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_new2-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.enation.fm\/artists\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/me_new2.jpg 604w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><em>Fast-forwarding&#8230;<\/em> September of 2009, DHL and Mauldrich restarted Enation Live in the Tampa Bay area (Wednesdays 7-10pm EST).\u00a0 Visiting local clubs and parties, they met local DJs and promoted the show.\u00a0 Enation Live quickly resumed and was back to a full swing of fresh local DJs playing their choice of music.\u00a0 Soon after, Mauldrich&#8217;s brother, SLi came on board.\u00a0 As well as Produkt13 and Sean Fee.\u00a0 You can hear Mauldrich and his Drum &amp;
